Wow, I can’t believe how long it has been since my last post. A lot has happened in my life over the past few months, and somewhere along the way, I’ve lost my writing mojo. Seriously. I haven’t wanted to write. Well, that’s not entirely true. I have wanted to write, but the things I have wanted to write about are considerably more personal than anything I have posted here in the past. Continue reading

Oops! I hit delete and have to start from scratch…
A week or so ago, I decided it was time to clean up my computer. You know, get rid of old files and documents, programs that I downloaded eons ago and never used, clean up the desktop, etc., all in an effort to maximize my computer. I was on a roll. I even cleaned out a ton of file directories, and that’s where I screwed up.
All that work…gone
Somehow, in cleaning up the file directories, I deleted my blog folder. That folder had draft regular and guest posts, content I was writing for others, personal blog topics to write about, research for my new blog (details soon), and a ton of other things. My content spreadsheet that I created is also gone (I thought I had thrown that on the desktop. Apparently, I didn’t). I miss that spreadsheet…a lot.
I deleted it all and now I get to start from scratch. Continue reading
A week of new things…
A heads up — my blogging is about to become prolific, starting this week for two completely different reasons.
Reason #1 It’s a food thing
As some of you know, I am gluten-free. I have to be. For over 4.5 years, I have successfully managed my intolerance by watching what I ate. I was also sugar-free. Over the past few months and most especially through the holidays, I seemed to have slipped… big time. While my eating habits haven’t gone totally off the charts, let’s just say I took a good, long detour. I have been seriously suffering from that detour. For some reason, when my eating “changed,” I also stopped working out. Big mistake.
Why I’m going dark for #StopSOPA

To be perfectly honest, my going dark tomorrow, January 18, 2012, won’t contribute much in the general scheme of things. I have two blogs – one is self-hosted, the other is not. I don’t have advertisements nor do I sell anything. No business has ever been done on either blog. I’m really small potatoes.

Are bloggers “journalists?”
That’s a serious question. I’ve seen this discussion on and off for the past couple of years – usually heated, but never really resolved.
As bloggers, we write about many things, some more expertly than others. We write reviews of products, strongly worded opinion pieces on a myriad of topics, and we call out brands on our blogs when they mess up (or do good). We write about events or topics that are timely in business, social media, family, and even television. Does that make us bloggers, journalists, or both? Continue reading
My Highlights of BlogWorldExpo-LA, Pt 1
I had a “Looney Tunes” start to my trip to Los Angeles for BlogWorldExpo-LA (#BWELA).The zipper broke on my suitcase resulting in me packing a smaller bag leaving behind items I needed (and bringing things I didn’t).
I missed my “crack of dawn” flight on Wednesday as a result of being very tired (after the repacking escapade, I didn’t get to bed until after midnight) and setting the clock for 3:00 PM instead of 3:00 AM. Huge props to the Mr for getting me to the airport in record time, even if I did miss my flight! Continue reading
Countdown to BlogWorldExpo-LA
It’s Sunday and I’m looking at piles of clothes, cords for various electronic devices, and assorted “stuff” to put in my suitcase. I’m not leaving until Wednesday. I feel like a kid at midnight on Christmas Eve! Yes, I’m that excited…and nervous. I have plenty to do before I leave, at the crack of dawn, on Wednesday. Continue reading
You may have noticed a few changes…
Status
It’s been a busy time for me lately. I’ve done a lot of writing (business and personal), I’m preparing for BlogworldExpo-LA (yay!), and I’ve been working on my blog. Well, two blogs actually.
I have finally moved the fiction writing from this blog to its new home! All of the Indie Ink writing challenges, the NaNoWriMo posts, and other similar posts have been moved to Fictional Graffiti – my new writing blog.
I plan on getting back to a normal blogging schedule soon and will be blogging daily from #BWELA (along with a lot of tweets). I invite you to check out my new writing blog — I would love your feedback. It’s still being tweaked, but I love the direction I’m going with it.
You might notice a few changes here as well. I’ve moved to a new theme and I am still tweaking this blog as well. Hopefully, it will better showcase the content that I plan on sharing down the road. Your feedback is welcome.
I want to thank you all for bearing with me whilst I was writing the challenges – I know those posts overshadowed many of the other posts I’d written, that many of you come here to read.
“Thoughts From the Farm” is now back to its normal self — posts on life and social media, all from my point of view.
