It’s been over five years since Shasta passed away. It’s taken that long for me to finally agree to add a dog to the household. The Mr has been ready for at least three years (to be honest, I’m still not sure I’m ready). He has scoured rescue organizations, kill and no-kill shelters, Craigslist ( we know the scams from the real thing), Facebook, and more. Last Saturday, he came across Great Pyrenees puppies. Of course, there were pictures that I just *had* to look at. I admit, they were adorable. The Mr was set on going to see them — and off we went. The rest, as they say, is history.
When we got Lucy last weekend, she was 8 weeks old. A very LARGE 8 weeks old. Yesterday, she had her first vet visit. When we went to put her on the scale, we played “what’s her weight.” I guessed around 10 pounds, the Mr guessed around 12. She was a whopping 17.6. She’s going to be a BIG girl! The vet guesses she’ll be around 100 pounds. Hoo boy.
Anyway, it’s been many years since we’ve had a puppy – long before I started to blog. So, I’m going to blog about Lucy (and other things) — a bit of a chronicle that we didn’t do with our other dogs. Pictures, videos, and what not — all about a Great Pyrenees puppy called Lucy.
